Supporting Learning in the EYFS (including writing high quality observations) for Teaching Assistants

Outline

Supports participants in understanding what makes a high-quality observation of children’s learning and will provide opportunities to practice writing and interpreting high-quality observations.

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Description

This one-day course is suitable for Teaching Assistants working in Reception classes and Teachers new to Reception. It will explore how adults can best support children’s learning in Reception - through both adult-led and child-initiated learning opportunities. It will consider what makes an effective emotional and physical learning environment and effective interaction. It will also support participants in understanding what makes a high-quality observation of children’s learning and will provide opportunities to practice writing and interpreting high-quality observations.

Outcomes

For participants to:
  • Understand what makes an effective emotional and physical learning environment in Reception
  • Understand the ways in which he/ she can best support children’s learning in Reception.
  • Understand what makes a high-quality observation.

This one-day course is suitable for Teaching Assistants working in Reception classes and Teachers new to Reception.
