The session is a total of 3 hours which can be offered during the day, evenings or weekends to suit your requirements. This interactive course will support the development of early years practitioners’ skills in observing young children, and using observations to assess and further support and plan for a child’s next steps in learning.
This course will cover:
- The importance of observing children and how to carry out effective observations
- How best to use information gained from observations when identifying next steps for children in order to meet their individual needs
- The importance of planning and how to plan effectively whilst remaining flexible to allow for spontaneity.
Practitioners will have new skills and strategies for observing young children and understand the importance of planning.
The duration for this training is a total of 3 hours but can be adjusted to meet your needs, please contact SCIL to discuss this further. This training can also be offered during the day, evenings or weekends to suit your requirements.
Due to the nature of the training, the room you provide must meet SCIL Health and Safety requirements as per the booking form.
We kindly advise and appreciate at least 3-4 weeks’ notice for in-house training requests to take place.
The cost of the training for 2017-2018 is £300 for up to 16 learners, if you have more than 16 learners there will be an additional cost please contact SCIL to discuss this further.
SCIL can provide bespoke training for anyone who works with children or families, for example Early Years settings or cluster groups, or Primary/Junior Schools.
